Methodology

This page explains where PearHealth research ranges come from, how they reach the app, and what they do not represent. It describes only what the current code and generated data actually do, and adds no medical claims.

01 · Research range

What the research range is and is not

A research range is a research-literature range in a versioned catalogue, carrying an evidence grade. It is not a general clinical optimal range, not a treatment target, and not a diagnostic threshold or universal clinical normal range. Risk markers differ from treatment targets; association does not prove that changing a marker improves outcomes.

The report reference range is shown as-is for audit only and does not participate in PearHealth status comparison. With no safely matched research range, comparison fails closed as "No comparison" rather than being guessed.

02 · Sources

Sources and evidence grades

Every research range carries a grade: A = RCT or guideline, B = observational, C = functional-medicine opinion. The grade is shown on the records table and marker cards; an entry without a recognized grade is treated as C.

As of this build, the catalogue holds 153 markers and 347 registered sources; research-range grades are A 7, B 25, C 121. Catalogue version P5-v2.0, source registry P5-SRC-v2.0. Catalogue entries are currently marked as pending clinical review.

03 · Pipeline

How a range reaches the app

Raw research data (one file per body system) is first folded into a single research table, then compiled into the catalogue and source registry the app reads. Each marker carries its own source IDs and evidence grade.

Every build validates that each source ID resolves in the registry, that links are HTTPS, that missing links are never invented, and that any undeclared unit mismatch fails the build.

04 · Boundaries

What we do not do

No diagnosis, no treatment or individualized prescriptions, and no supplement brand, dose, or course from a single blood test. Do not start, stop, or change medications, supplements, diet, or treatment based only on App or website content.

On import, identity confirmation is always manual; photo and OCR rows never auto-confirm; a row with an unresolved collection date is never auto-confirmed; each row stays individually revocable and any field edit clears its confirmation.

05 · Errors

If you find an error

If a range, unit, source, or wording is wrong, raise it through the Support page and include the marker name and catalogue version.

Support channels are not finished yet; there is currently no public channel for receiving health materials, so do not send blood-test records or identity documents via informal messages. For emergency or severe symptoms, contact local emergency medical services immediately.
